Reginald Dyck's research focuses on contemporary Native literature, particularly Greg Sarris's fiction, Diane Glancy's drama, and Simon Ortiz's poetry. A related focus is Indigenous literature of Latin America, including the fiction of Gasper Pedro Gonzalez. Willa Cather continues to be an important research interest.
His literary analysis uses issues of class, work culture, and poverty.
